      <image:title>Meet Lisa - Growing up in Georgia</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, I’m Lisa Campbell, your Georgia House Representative for District 35. I grew up in Cobb County, the oldest of three girls and attended Cobb County Public Schools. My mother was a high school biology teacher and later one of the first female home builders in Georgia, and my father was a healthcare administrator and CEO for hospitals. I grew up in a house with love and support, played in Cobb sports leagues, studied piano and played flute in the marching band, loved reading in our public libraries, and developed a lifelong passion for the outdoors in our many parks and gardens. Most importantly, I learned about giving back from parents who modeled respect, service, and lifelong learning. From a very early age, I’ve always stood up for what I believe in, whether protecting greenspace in our neighborhoods, speaking out to protect voting rights, advocating for women’s rights, or rallying diverse coalitions against overcharging for water. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve lived in Georgia, and I’ve never stopped trying to give back to our communities in return. That’s why I’m serving as the Georgia House Representative for District 35, to work for everyone who calls our community home and create a Better Georgia for All.</image:caption>

<image:caption>January 23, 2026 Several Cobb County lawmakers have introduced legislation in the Georgia General Assembly that would require public school districts to broadcast or record public comments at school board meetings if those meetings are aired to the public. House Bill 989 would amend state law governing local boards of education to require that any public comment period be recorded or broadcast “in the same manner and to the same extent” as the rest of the public portions of their meetings. During a Thursday town hall at Jim Miller Park, Rep. David Wilkerson, D-Powder Springs, one of the bill’s co-sponsors, said the bill was about consistency and transparency. Wilkerson chairs the Cobb Legislative Delegation. The bill’s other co-sponsors include Rep. Mekyah McQueen, D-Smyrna; Rep. Solomon Adesanya, D-east Cobb; Rep. Mary Frances Williams, D-Marietta; Rep. Jordan Ridley, R-Woodstock; and Rep. Lisa Campbell, D-Kennesaw. READ</image:caption>

<image:caption>January 22, 2026 During a Cobb Legislative Delegation town hall at Jim Miller Park Thursday night, Rep. Lisa Campbell, D-Kennesaw, said Georgia has one of the highest detainee rates and arrest numbers in the country related to immigration enforcement. “I believe — and I won’t speak for everyone — but the rule of law right now is being trampled on,” Campbell said. “Every single person in this country has the right to an attorney, the right to a hearing. And those laws right now, they’re being disregarded, which it’s not constitutional. We all here believe in public safety and we want that, but we do not have to pick and choose.” Campbell cited recent incidents — including the detention of a five-year-old in Minnesota earlier this week and the Jan. 7 fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis — calling them “absolutely unconstitutional, unlawful and unforgivable cruelty.” READ</image:caption>

<image:caption>January 16, 2025 Following Governor Brian Kemp’s 2025 State of the State address this morning, Representative Lisa Campbell released the following statement: “This year’s State of the State once again failed to address the barriers that are holding back hardworking Georgia families,” said State Representative Lisa Campbell, “As the Republican party continues to ignore Georgians’ real needs for affordable healthcare, do nothing to curb the cost of sky-rocketing prescription drugs, defund public education for our kids, drag their feet on helping parents afford childcare, and ignore the expanding needs of our seniors and their caregivers, House Democrats have a bold Opportunity Agenda that prioritizes all Georgians. It's time to stop leaving people behind and ensure that every Georgian has the chance to live, learn, and earn." READ</image:caption>

<image:caption>January 30, 2025 Along with many of you, I have a deep respect for our former President Jimmy Carter as a human being, statesman, humanitarian and a devoted environmentalist. Indeed, an important part of his presidential legacy is his awareness of the vulnerability of our planet to human activities and climate change, and his many substantive actions to protect our environment. President Carter was a first-of-his-kind environmental advocate who encouraged decreased reliance on fossil fuels, less energy consumption at the individual level, and decreased American dependence on foreign oil. He created the U.S. Department of Energy and more than doubled the land protected by the National Park Service. In addition, President Carter believed we should get 20 percent of our power from solar energy and other renewables by the year 2000. In true Jimmy Carter style of practicing what he preached, President Carter even installed 32 solar panels on the roof of the White House to heat water in 1979! READ</image:caption>

<image:caption>LISA CAMPBELL: In reply to Chairwoman Sharon Cooper’s “Georgia’s Smarter Path to Solving the Uninsured Problem” October 3, 2025 How has Georgia’s uninsured problem been “solved” when it’s getting worse? More than 1.2 million Georgians (13% of our population), lack health insurance. This means hundreds of thousands of moms and dads cannot seek medical care for their kids when they’re sick. More than a million of Georgia’s working families cannot see doctors, dentists, psychologists, or other providers without health insurance. In Georgia, one in 10 adults or two in five children rely on Medicaid for their health care coverage. Georgia’s Pathway program has failed to meet the goals Gov. Kemp’s Pathways has not enrolled more people in healthcare insurance, and it is costing taxpayers millions of dollars. Here are the facts: ♦ At the end of 2024, Pathways has cost taxpayers $86.9 million, AND twice as much of the money has gone to consultants rather than to healthcare. ♦ A mere 7,463 participants have enrolled (as of September 22, 2025) — approximately 75% fewer than the state had estimated. ♦ Pathways’ 80-hour “work requirement” doesn’t consider caregiving as eligible work (except for parents with children under the age of six), and many (especially women) cannot enroll because their work, caring for aging parents, children with disabilities or spouses, doesn’t count. I sponsored HB 751 to waive this rule. READ</image:caption>

Without those funds, many childcare centers will close. According to The Century Foundation, Georgia is projected to lose 10,575 child care jobs and experience 944 child care program closures resulting in the loss of care for more than 80,000 of our children.
